We are looking for a bright, motivated and hard-working Programmes and Operations administrator (maternity cover) for our Peterborough office. You will join a small, committed and highly motivated team. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, often being the public face of the organisation and the first point of contact for artists and audiences. The role is very hands-on, and no two days are alike. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside the team on many exciting artists projects. This opportunity has become available due to a member of staff going on maternity leave.
Person Specification
Essential:
Warm, friendly and personable manner with genuine enjoyment of working with a cross-section of people.
Excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail.
Experience in a similar role.
Experience of general office procedures e.g. database management, budget management, computerised record and filing systems, photocopying, emails and etc.
Ability to evidence an interest in the work of Metal and/or a strong interest in the arts.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office software
Must be able to commit to some evening and weekend working.
Good at working as part of a team and on own initiative.
Responding to queries and simple problem-solving.
Diary management and appointment booking using manual and computerised systems.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Desirable:
Experience of financial administration and budget management.
Experience of minute taking and accurate recording of meetings.
Strong knowledge of social media.
Experience of recruiting and/or managing volunteers.
Experience creating safe and inclusive spaces for public events.
An interest in food, cooking & hospitality.
Passion for the role of arts and culture to inspire positive change in the places we live.
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and/or Canva.
Full time, 13 month fixed term, maternity cover contract
Working with and reporting to: Director, Peterborough
4 day working week: At Metal we are trialing a 4 day working week across 2024/25. The continuation of this is subject to trustees approval. Please note, if the 4 day week is discontinued, you will be required to work 5 days per week.
Hours: 9am - 5.30pm (occasional evenings and weekend work)
